1 – When did you first get into music? What or who Inspired you?
All of us have started playing and getting involved with music at a very young age be it playing the triangle or guitar in a rock and roll band. What brought us together is our common passion for music and the drive to pursue a musical career. We all draw our inspiration first of all from our varied tastes in music ranging from experimental electronica and indie to quality commercial pop. As well as that, other art forms such as photography, painting, film and of course, day to day events have an impact on what we write.
2 – Who did you grow up listening to, and does that impact on what you create now?
We all grew up listening to pretty different stuff but the common ground was found in classic rock bands of the 60s and 70s such as The Kinks, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath along with more modern artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead and Aphex Twin.
3 – How long have you been playing/writing?
We’ve been playing and writing in this formula for about two and a half years but not all of it was Love For Zero as wr are now. We gone through plenty of stylistic changes. A quest for finding our sound and what we want to write as a unit. 2013 was the year that defined our sound. We’re looking forward to 2014 to expand our audiences and reach people’s hearts.
4 – How often do you play live (include details and links for any upcoming gigs)?
We love the energy and the vibe of playing live so we do it as often as we can. It’s very important to reward our audiences with good quality gigs and hopefully convert some new fans to the Love For Zero family. We finished this year with an amazing hometown gig at Sound Control and we will be starting to gig again early 2014. 5 – What has been your favourite moment in music?
One of Love for zero’s favourite moments was flying to Cyprus to support The Kooks. The gig took place on a beach and it must be one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever played in. Another very important moment for us was finishing our debut EP entitled ‘Allies and Enemies’.
